Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has that there are individuals who have been advising him to fight President William Ruto but that is not his job.

Speaking in Ng’arachi, Laikipia, Kindiki said his job as Deputy President is to support and defend the president.

He insisted that it is his job and that of other state officers is to follow up on the President’s promises to the people and deliver development.

“Some people are advising me to fight the President. My job is to support the President, to defend him, to work under him with my colleagues to make sure we follow through the President’s promises and deliver development to the people of Kenya,” Kindiki said.

“I assure you I will be a steady assistant, a steady deputy, right behind you firmly and together with my colleagues, we are going to deliver Kenya to the Promised Land under your leadership.”

Kindiki noted that the government is focused on making the lives of Kenyans better and will not waste time engaging leaders who have no plan for the people of Kenya.

“I assure you, Mr President, that together with the CSs, PSs and all government officers and elected members of our coalition, that we will not waste time trying to argue and fight with the people who have no agenda for the country. We will not waste time fighting with people who can’t tell what they have done for the people,” the DP added.

President William Ruto and his deputy began a weeklong tour of the Mt Kenya region on Tuesday with their first stop being Laikipia County.
