Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has that he has no problem with the current DP Prof. Kithure Kindiki.
According to Gachagua he cannot talk about Kindiki because he is an appointee of President Ruto.
He went on to say that he is focused on doing his own things at the moment, insisting that he served as an elected office holder.
“I don’t want to talk about Kindiki. He is an appointee of the President. I am an elected leaders I cannot talk about an appointee. He does what the president asks. I have no problem or shughuli na yeye I am doing my own things,” said Gachagua.
This comes barely two months after Kindiki said that his relationship with Gachagua had not changed despite being impeached and that they remained friends.
“Our relationship is the same as it was. We’re good people, good friends,” Kindiki stated in an interview.
Asked about lessons he has learnt from Gachagua’s term, Kindiki said he did not want to discuss the former DP, insisting that it would be wrong for him to start comparing himself with the ousted Deputy President.
“Allow me not to discuss my brother Rigathi Gachagua. It is wrong to start comparing myself with the person who occupied this office,” he said.
Kindiki further noted that the process of removing Gachagua from office involved all arms of government and he sees no problem with it.
He went on to say that should there be an issue, there is a clear constitutional process to make corrections to that.
