Former Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga and ex-Starehe MP Bishop Margaret Wanjiru have landed new state jobs following appointments by President William Ruto.
In the new roles, the two will serve as member and chairperson of the Nairobi Rivers Commission respectively.
The Nairobi Rivers Commission was launched in February 2023.
President Ruto made the appointments through a Gazette Notice dated October 25, 2024.
Both Omanga and Wanjiru were initially appointed Chief Administrative Secretaries in the miniseries of Interior and Cooperatives respectively before the course declared the CAS positions null and void.
Omanga is taking up the position of former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu whose appointment to the Nairobi Rivers Commission was challenged in court having been impeached as Kiambu Governor.
Once impeached, one cannot hold public office.
Ruto has also moved the Commission from the office of the president to the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development.
