President Ruto makes changes in his Cabinet as Uhuru’s men get new jobs

President William Ruto has made key changes in his cabinet for the third time since winning the presidency in 2022.

On Thursday, President Ruto made fresh appointments and reshuffles in his cabinet where former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s allies were picked days after their meeting in Icheweri.

Former Health CS Mutahi Kagwe was appointed as the new CS for Agriculture and Livestock.

Former Kiambu governor William Kabogo was appointed as the new CS for ICT while former Nakuru governor Lee Kinyanjui was picked as the new CS for Trade and Industry.

At the same time, former Elgeyo Markwet Senator Kipchuma Murkomen was resigned to the ministry of Interior and National Administration. He was moved from Sports, Creative Economy.

Salim Mvurya was again moved from the Trade and Industry Docket to be the new CS for Sports and Creative Ecomony.

Here are the Changes

1. Youths & Sports CS Kipchumba Murkomen moved to the Interior & National Administration Ministry.

2. Former Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, nominated as the CS for Agriculture and Livestock Development.

3. Outgoing CS for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Dr. Andrew Mwihia Karanja, has been appointed Kenya’s Ambassador to Brazil.

4. Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo was nominated as the CS for Information, Technology, and Digital Economy.

5. Outgoing CS for Information, Technology, and Digital Economy, Dr. Margaret Nyambura Ndung’u, appointed Kenya’s High Commissioner in Ghana.

6. Former Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui was nominated as the CS for Investment, Trade, and Industry.

7. The outgoing CS for Investment, Trade, and Industry, Salim Mvurya, was moved to the Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs.

8. Former Sports CS Ababu Namwamba was appointed as Kenya’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi.
