The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness, under the leadership of Prophet Dr. David Owuor, has dismissed widespread online claims suggesting that the world will end on August 2, 2025.
In an official statement released on August 1, the church described the doomsday rumors as “false, baseless, malicious, and unbiblical.”
The statement, signed by Senior Archbishop Michael Nieswand, emphasized that Prophet Owuor has never made such predictions and remains faithful to scriptural teachings.
“We, the leadership and congregation of The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness, strongly denounce the recent spread of false and misleading information about The World Ending on August 2nd, 2025,” the statement read.

Referring to Matthew 24:36, the church reiterated that only God knows the exact time of the end.
“Prophet Dr. Owuor has always been very categorical on the fact that nobody knows the day or the hour when the Messiah will return, as the Bible clearly states,” it added.
The Ministry also noted that it had already addressed the misleading reports in a previous statement dated July 13, which was further aired on KBC News on July 14 and Radio 47 on July 15.
According to the church, the rumors were not only intended to stir fear but also aimed at damaging Prophet Owuor’s reputation and undermining the ministry’s global message.
“These claims are false, baseless, malicious, and intended to harm not only the reputation of the PROPHET OF THE LORD, DR. DAVID OWUOR AND THE MINISTRY OF REPENTANCE AND HOLINESS, but also the unity and testimony of our Church,” read the strongly-worded statement.
The ministry has called on the public, media outlets, bloggers, and content creators to be responsible and refrain from spreading unverified information.
“As believers, we are called to pursue truth, peace, and righteousness. Let us not be quick to spread gossip, but instead be diligent in prayer, discernment, and unity.”
Church members and the broader Christian community were urged to stand firm in their faith and reject fear-driven narratives that go against biblical principles.
