Suna East MP Junet Mohamed on Wednesday showered President William Ruto with praises for working with the Opposition.

He made the remarks as the Head of State embarked on a development tour of the Nyanza region.

According to Junet, this was the way leading to God, and if the President continues doing so, he will earn more support from the people.

Mheshimiwa Rais, hiyo barabara umeshika sasa ukiendelea nayo namna hiyo inaenda kwa mungu. Endelea na hiyo barabara kabisa, imebarikiwa na ni barabara wananchi hapa wanapenda,” he said.

This translates to, “You Excellency, the road you have taken, if you continue with it, it goes to heaven. Continue taking that road it is blessed and it is a road people here love.”

The National Assembly Minority leader thanked the Ruto for agreeing to support Raila Odinga in his African Union Commission chairmanship bid.

Junet added that the tranquility being witnessed in the country currently will go a long way in ensuring all regions get the national cake equally.

Sisi tunataka tushikane namna hii ile tufanye maendeleo, sisi tumebaki nyuma kimaendeleo…stima imefika juzi, barabara ndo inaanzishwa sai, mheshimiwa sisi tulikuwa tumedhani sisi ni waganda,” he said.

This translates as, “We want to unite so that we can have development; we have lagged. We just got electricity the other day, and the roads are being launched now. Your Excellency, it had reached a point where we thought we were Ugandans.”

Junet was among leaders from Nyanza who had accompanied Ruto for his four-day tour of the region.
