Tragedy struck on Tuesday morning when a light aircraft crashed in the Tsimba Golini area of Kwale County, killing all 12 people on board.
According to police reports, the victims are believed to be tourists. The Cessna Caravan plane had taken off from Diani Airport and was en route to Kichwa Tembo when it went down in the early hours of the morning.
The cause of the crash remains unclear, though police and emergency service providers rushed to the scene shortly after the incident was reported. Local residents also confirmed seeing responders at the crash site as recovery operations began.

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has since confirmed the accident, identifying the aircraft as registration number 5Y-CCA.
“The aircraft had 12 persons on board. Government agencies are already on site to establish the cause of the accident and its impact,” said KCAA Director General Emile Arao in a statement.
