Gospel singer Rozinah Mwakideu has opened up about her painful past, revealing that her biggest regret in life was marrying Pastor Robert Burale.
Speaking candidly on her brother Alex Mwakideu’s podcast, Rozinah described her marriage to the popular pastor as the “darkest period” of her life.
“My biggest mistake in life was marrying Robert Burale, and the darkest period in my life was when I was married to Burale,” she said.
Rozinah revealed that during that time, she fell into deep depression and even contemplated taking her own life.

“I was also in a very bad depression, and even people came to pray for me, not even able to go to church. I was just crying. There was a time I picked a kitchen knife, sat on the counter, and wanted to die,” she recalled.
The gospel singer further alleged that she found pornographic videos involving men on Burale’s laptop, which ultimately pushed her to walk away from the marriage.
“Mimi ndio niliacha Robert Burale. I tried to leave the marriage twice but successfully left the marriage in my third attempt. For me, it was a matter of life and death. When I met Burale, there were so many women around. I realized it later,” Rozinah said.
“There is a video I saw of people of the same gender (male), and I confronted him about it. This is 12/13 years ago,” she added.
Rozinah went on to claim that even before their wedding, her mother and strangers online had warned her about marrying Burale. She also alleged that Burale was struggling with debt and often borrowed money without repaying it, which even led to a police case.

She revealed that their union, which lasted slightly over a year, did not result in any children.
“We were blessed not to have any child in the one year and a few days. People can be good. When I met him (now he may be a good person … grown matured), I don’t think he was. I don’t think I was also there.
Red flags zinakuanga. Ukiona red flags, usijaribu kuhepa. Kubali ni red flag. Watu wengi walinitext kwa Facebook … chungana, you seem like a good person. I think Robert wanted to keep me in his sight ndio nisijue mambo mengi,” Rozinah explained.
Her emotional revelations came just a week after Pastor Burale had appeared on the same show, where he gave a far calmer version of events, saying their marriage ended amicably.
“This is my former brother-in-law. I was married to his sister, and I think it’s just that two good people did not work out. There was no violence in the marriage, there was no infidelity in the marriage,” Burale said during his interview.

Following the viral interview, Alex Mwakideu faced criticism online, with some accusing him of “setting up” Burale by hosting his sister soon after the pastor’s episode.
However, Alex has since cleared the air, insisting that he had no idea what Rozinah was going to reveal.
“I did not know any of the things my sister said on that show. I was not aware that she tried to leave the marriage three times, her trying to kill herself, her celibacy, and all that I knew nothing. If there was anything I knew, it was the story of him borrowing money because it was on social media,” Alex said.
He emphasized that he never intended to embarrass or ambush Burale and only learned about his sister’s confessions during the recording itself.
The viral saga continues to stir debate online, with many contrasting Burale’s composed narrative against Rozinah’s deeply personal revelations.
