English Premier League Club Manchester United has officially parted ways with their manager Eric Ten Hag.
On Monday, October 28, 2024, the club issued a statement confirming Ten Hag’s exit from the club with immediate effect.
“Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager,” the statement said in part.
Manchester further stated that Ten Hag took over the club in 2022 and won two trophies.
“Erik was appointed in April 2022 and led the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024.
“We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future,” Manchester said.
The club added that Ruud van Nistelrooy will take over the team’s leadership on an interim basis until a permanent coach is appointed.
“Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach supported by the current coaching team whilst a permanent head coach is recruited,” the statement added.
Ten Hag has left Manchester United after a 2-1 defeat at the hands of West Ham United.
Currently, Manchester is number 14 in the Premier League table.
United are now seeking their sixth permanent manager since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.
