Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has appointed Jacob Ng’etich as his new Director of Press Service, succeeding Salim Swaleh.

Reports reaching us indicate that Ng’etich began working at his new post last week and has begun exchanging office press releases.
Ng’etich spent eleven years as a journalist at Standard Group and Nation Media before landing his new job.
He will oversee communications at Mudavadi’s executive office, in addition to his duties as Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.
His responsibilities will also include managing media relations, creating communication materials, and ensuring brand integrity across all platforms.
When sought for comment, Ng’etich stated that he had left the Standard Group and was now working in the Prime CS’s office.
Mudavadi’s responsibilities include assisting President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua in the coordination and supervision of government ministries and state departments, as well as overseeing the Foreign and Diaspora Affairs docket among other duties.
Takes Over from Swaleh
Ng’etich takes over from Salim Swaleh who was shown the door after being involved in a scandal.
On Monday, Swaleh asked his former boss for forgiveness saying he had broken the trust they had.
“Your Excellency, you have been my father figure for the longest time that I’ve known you. We’ve built an unmatched trust between us and for the last one and a half I have served you, served your good office, and served you with unmatched zeal. I broke the trust and I’m so sorry about it. I’m truly remorseful about it,” he said in the video.
Scandal
According to the charge sheet, Swaleh and four others reportedly plotted to defraud a consultancy company of Sh5.8 million.
The offense is reported to have occurred several times between June 4, 2014, and June 22, 2014, at the Prime Cabinet Secretary’s office, specifically the office of the Director of Press Services in Nairobi County.
