The Atheists In Kenya Society (AIK) has come out in defense of Pastor Robert Burale following a viral interview in which his ex-wife, Rozinah Mwakideu, opened up about their failed marriage.
In a strongly worded statement titled “We Stand With Pastor Robert Burale”, AIK President Harrison Mumia expressed support for the preacher, accusing Rozinah of harboring resentment and attempting to damage Burale’s image more than a decade after their separation.
“Mwakideu is obviously dealing with a lot of bitterness and resentment, 12 years after her split from Burale. Clearly, she hasn’t really moved on. She is a petty, nasty, and vindictive ex who wants to tarnish Burale’s reputation,” Mumia said in the statement.

The society, which is often known for its outspoken stance against organized religion, surprised many Kenyans by taking a stand in favor of the pastor. Mumia urged Rozinah to focus on her healing journey rather than publicly revisiting the past.
“We urge Mwakideu to work on her emotional healing. She should seek counselling and therapy to speed up healing and forgiveness,” he added.
“The Atheists In Kenya Society stands with Pastor Robert Burale,” the statement concluded.

Background: Rozinah’s Viral Interview
Rozinah Mwakideu recently made headlines after speaking candidly about her short-lived marriage to Burale, describing it as “the biggest mistake” of her life. In the emotional interview, she revealed that her decision to marry Burale was rushed and filled with red flags that she ignored at the time.
She further explained that the union lasted only about a year, adding that while Burale has gone on to build a strong public image as a motivational speaker and pastor, her experience left her with lessons about love, patience, and discernment.
Rozinah’s statements quickly trended online, sparking mixed reactions from Kenyans. While some sympathized with her honesty, others felt she was reopening old wounds and unfairly painting Burale in a negative light.
Pastor Robert Burale, who has built a reputable brand as a motivational speaker, pastor, and media personality, has not yet commented on the viral interview or the Atheists Society’s statement of support.
